Welcome To The Park City Extreme Cup
July 31 – August 2, 2014 • Park City, Utah
The Park City Soccer Club invites you to apply to the 11th Annual Park City Extreme Cup to be held July 31 - August 2, 2014. The Extreme Cup is one of the most highly regarded tournaments in the State of Utah ~ well organized and played on pristine fields in and around the resort community of Park City. To accommodate the continued growth of the tournament, the Park City Soccer Club has partnered with the Heber Valley and South Summit Soccer Clubs to host this year’s event.
The Extreme Cup is a US Youth Soccer sanctioned tournament for boys and girls ages U9 through U18; US Club Soccer teams are also eligible to participate. Teams are accepted into the tournament based on registration date, level of play and record, as well as past participation; priority is given to out-of-state and out-of-region teams who plan to stay in Park City during the tournament. Approximately 50% of the 2013 entrants were Premier or Division I teams, however the Extreme Cup strives to offer play at a variety of levels whenever possible through its Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze Divisions. Each team is guaranteed at least three games.
Special scheduling and check-in arrangements are available for out-of-town teams. To accommodate the growing demand of teams wishing to participate in The Extreme Cup (over 200 teams were turned away in 2013), the 2014 tournament will be played on 38 fields at thirteen outstanding venues in and around Park City. These fields are widely acknowledged as the best in the State; the U.S. Men’s National Team and ReAL Salt Lake have trained on some of these same fields! Games outside of Park City will be held in the Heber Valley and Oakley; these venues are no more than 20 minutes from Park City. A limited number of night games are played under the lights. Also returning in 2014 will be the Extreme Cup Skills Contest and barbeque dinner ~ a carnivale for all.
The skies are perpetually blue and the temperatures mild during the summer in Park City. The hillsides are covered with wildflowers, aspen groves and hundreds of miles of trails for hiking and biking ~ the only things missing are the bugs. Four world-class resorts: Deer Valley, Park City, Canyons and Utah Olympic Park offer adventures ranging from scenic lift rides, horseback riding and family activity zones to thrilling zip lines and summer bobsled rides. Live music is everywhere with free concerts offered frequently throughout the town and Deer Valley’s outdoor amphitheater attracting big names ranging from Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan to the Utah Symphony. The Kimball Arts Festival lines Main Street during the weekend of the tournament, with plenty of shopping, grazing and dining available for everyone. At the other end of town, the Flying Ace All-Stars are sure to entertain with their aerial acrobatic show at the Olympic Park Splash Pool. And over in Heber Valley is the Wasatch County Fair, complete with rides and a rodeo!
